I’m getting a little off the subject about why blogging matters, but it all ties into each other.   Adverting brings people to your website, once they are there and they read something they like and notice that you write on a regular bases, they come back.  People that come back are potential clients or customers.  This is why blogging matters.

This article I found this morning gives a bit more in depth information about why blogging matters and why business, big or small, should follow along with everyone else.    Also, at the end of the article there is a link to GM’s blog which just browsing through, has some great information and it looks like they post stuff almost every day.

The article has some points on social networking, what the internet is doing and why it is important to participate in Social Networking as a business.   It will assist your company in climbing the ladder of success no matter how small your company is.

Digital Billboard

Here at Aiden Web Design, we are two designers that work freelance from a small location, but our primary jobs are in the same corporation, in our “normal” jobs we work for the Restaurant & Lodging business and some types of digital advertising that has been done are all that have been listed above.   Currenly, I create all the advertising that goes on our digital frame.  She frame show a few different images of areas that maybe unknown to guests in the hotel.

We also use digital advertising in a very cost way with a laptop and having it available to show slideshows to potential brides when booking a location.  Lastly, we also have used digital billboards which can really catch the eye of a customer or potential customer with upcoming events, specials or just general advertising.

Here is some costs to going digital – Laptop (more than just for slideshows for clients) $400-1200 approx.  Digital Frame – $40-200 approx. can show more than just pictures of the family and some can even show video and have sound.  Digital Billboard – $1200-10,000 per month.

May sound costly, but in reality look at this way.  How much do you spend in print advertisement?  The Saginaw News for a black and white 6 by 6 in ad costs roughly $500 or more.  Add color and it gets a lot more costly.  And this is for a one time print.  Add this up for once a week for 4 weeks and you are looking $2000.  Digital billboard, runs on highways, 100’s to 1000 of drivers, add runs frequently everyday for a month and you may spend the same $2000 and get more back.  More bang for your buck.
